U.S. 2nd Model Prairie Carriage
- Copied from an original.
- Constructed of White Oak and fittings of steel, ductile iron castings and wrought iron to carry the 12-Pounder Mountain Howitzer. Trail length is 62", width dimensions - outside wheel width or track is 46.75".
- A copy of the surviving example is located at the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Grounds Museum. This carriage was used extensively from the 1850s to the late 1880s in western campaigns.
